Golden Buddha, Reclining Buddha & Marble Temple

This temple houses the magnificent statue of Golden Buddha – world’s largest solid gold statue weighing an impressive 5.5 tons, 10 feet high and worth 250 million dollars. ● We now proceed to Wat Benchamabophit – The Marble Temple. It is one of Bangkok’s most modern and striking temples. This temple exhibits unique fusion of Turkish & Thai architecture. There is an European influence in the architecture of The Marble temple as well. The main statute of Buddha in The Marble Temple is a copy of Phra Buddha Chinarat that resides in Phitsanulok in northern Thailand.

● The oldest temple in Bangkok, dating back to the 17th century, Wat Pho houses more than 1,000 Buddha images in addition to the huge reclining figure which is why the name – Reclining Buddha Temple which houses more than 1,000 Buddha images in addition to the huge reclining figure.
